A new online resource, 'Basic PAYE Tools', replaces HMRC's Employer CD-ROM. The resource is available on the Business Link website. As well as having all the features of the CD-ROM it also has an automatic update facility to ensure that the latest information and figures are contained within the tool.

In the last budget the Chancellor announced that the Annual Investment Allowance (AIA) will be reduced from £100,000 to £25,000 from April 2012. At the same time there will also be a reduction in the writing down allowance from 20% to 18%.
