Another HMRC email scam – this time re tax credits

You may or may not have seen in the press recently another alert regarding an email scam purported to be from HM Revenue & Customs. The email recipient is usually informed that they are due a tax rebate and after following a link to a fake HM Revenue & Customs site they are asked to enter bank account details. It is not necessary for us to go into the potential risks to individuals in providing this information!

National minimum wage and interns

Guidance to clarify when individuals performing work experience, including interns, are entitled to the national minimum wage has been published. It is important to note that the right to be paid the national minimum wage depends on whether or not the individual is defined as a “worker” or not, it is not dependent upon job title.
