A new online resource, ‘Basic PAYE Tools’, replaces HMRC’s Employer CD-ROM. The resource is available on the Business Link website. As well as having all the features of the CD-ROM it also has an automatic update facility to ensure that the latest information and figures are contained within the tool.
Basic PAYE Tools package is a free tool you can use to keep your employees’ payroll records in an electronic format. It works out the tax and National Insurance contributions (NICs) automatically for you for your employees in each pay period and updates your records accordingly. Smaller employers – those with up to and including nine employees at the end of the tax year – can use it to file their Employer Annual Return (form P35 and forms P14) online.
You can also use it to file your in-year starter and leaver forms (P45s and P46s) online.
Once the tool has been downloaded employers will be able to transfer across the information from the employer CD-ROM database. Employers will need to use this tool for the remainder of the 2010/11 tax year as well as for future tax years.
If you would like assistance in downloading the tool or if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to give us a call on 01733 371180.
