I recently saw an interesting article by Peterborough photographer Dan Waters which said:
“Beautiful day for teaching photography. I’m teaching someone who wants to become a wedding photographer. Yup, I’m teaching my own competitors! Am I a numpty? Maybe. My feeling is that if someone is determined to succeed they’ll do it with or without me. I may as well make friends with them and one day get their referrals! It’s a wonderful career, so check out my training page if you’d like to steal my clients! http://danwaterscreative.com/photography-lessons”
This article really inspired me. I also believe that if you help your competitors to improve, then you are forced to improve yourself, you can’t just bury your head in the sand.
Are you brave enough to help your competitors get better? You never know, you may also create another revenue stream for your business in the process.
