We’re incredibly proud of our Managing Director, Simon Chaplin.
Many of you know Simon as an accountant, business owner and trusted adviser, but this August he’s taking on one of his biggest personal challenges yet.
On 09 August 2026, Simon will begin an eight day trek to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro, standing at 19,341 feet, to raise £17,991 for St Peter’s Hospice in memory of his brother, Richard, who sadly passed away from bladder cancer in December 2025, aged just 49.

Simon has chosen the fundraising target for a very personal reason. Richard lived for 17,991 days and Simon hopes to raise £1 for every one of those days.
The money will help fund a cuddle bed at St Peter’s Hospice, something that meant so much to Richard and his family during his final days.
Although St Peter’s Hospice is based in Bristol rather than close to GreenStones, the care and compassion they showed Richard made a lasting impact on Simon and his family. This challenge is his way of giving something back.
True to form, Simon is covering all the costs of the expedition himself, meaning every penny donated goes directly to the hospice.
Simon has never been one to shy away from a challenge. Since joining GreenStones in 1997 and taking ownership of the business in 2002, he’s inspired both our team and thousands of business owners with his straight talking approach and determination. This challenge is no different, although we’re fairly sure it’s a little tougher than climbing the stairs in the office!
If you’d like to support Simon and this fantastic cause, we’d be incredibly grateful. Every donation, no matter the size, will help make a real difference.
Thank you for supporting Simon and helping us celebrate a cause that’s very close to his heart.
