On 1st October 2014 an increase to the national minimum wage will come into effect. The new hourly rates are as follows:-
Employees aged 21 and over £6.50 (previously £6.31)
Employees aged 18 to 21 £5.13 (previously £5.03)
Employees aged under 18 £3.79 (previously £3.72)
Apprentices aged 16 to 18, or
Over 18’s in their first year £2.73 (previously £2.68)
