Today, the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, announced support for businesses impacted by the Omicron variant of coronavirus.
One-off grants of up to £6,000 per premises will be available for businesses in the hospitality and leisure sectors in England.
The grants will be administered by local authorities in the coming weeks. It is estimated that approximately 200,000 businesses will be eligible for this support. Local authorities will also have access to discretionary funding to support other businesses which have been affected.
Statutory sick pay for covid related absences will be covered by the Government for small and medium size businesses across the UK.
Cultural organisations will also be able to apply for support during the winter with £30m worth of funding being made available to them.
