Over recent months there has been a considerable amount of apprehension regarding the implantation of RTI, particularly regarding the software both from a user point of view and HM Revenue & Customs. Well the good news is that in week 1 of the new payroll year GreenStones’ experience of the RTI has been positive and so far no difficulties have been experienced.
Our payroll specialist Michael Weatherington has described the process as nothing to be feared. The software we used copied all the data successfully, and the filing of the returns was as quick as any other HMRC online filing. Moreover the confirmation email was received instantaneously. Michael has summarised the process as being “just like any other payroll, it is neither slower nor quicker than the previous system to administer”. Michael states that comprehensive data is crucial, and that we make sure we have this detail for our payroll customers, but so long as you have this in place he cannot foresee that anyone will experience any major difficulties.
